Webster is consistent, using an external stress marker to indicate the

Thorndike Barnhart Dictionary uses i for schwi but that is the only thing they borrow from an IPA pronunciation guide. veri bikauz

IPA can distinguish between a stressed extended /'i:/ in *type and a short unstressed /i/ in *tippy and the short stressed /I/ in *tip.:

You know as well as I do its usually difficult to actually meet beutiful ppl on the net it seems, lol. I know ive had some terribleluck with that, but anyway we all have our own type of person and ive found a great place to find that perfect type for each person! The thing I used was http://www.someoneforyou.info/szbla , so it went pretty good so far you could say, and already met 3 ppl from there, and all of them actually looked like their profle said they would - makes for a pleasent suprise :).

I'm going to drop my membership of the old shavian group now, because of
annoyances like this.

I recommend that anyone else still subscribed do the same, so that Yahoo can
get on and delete the group.
