Dan:
I use Quikscript for writing notes and have for twenty-five years more or
less. I've tried to get someone interested in making the few changes
necessary to the Shaw alphabet to transform it into Quikscript, which I
believe is the improved and corrected form of the alphabet.
I am opposed to the idea of an externally imposed standard. In my opinion,
the number of words that would be written differently between a "British"
version of English and a midwestern dialect version of English is not that
great, and the words that are different allow some of the accent to come
through, which is intriguing. Further, I don't believe the differences
would slow reading down that much either. I don't have too much trouble
deciphering "colour" or "defence."
Paige.

Paige,
I have ZERO experience with this, but I wanted to let you know that I
downloaded a font creation program, and I am right now trying to
create the first Second Shaw font.

WOW! The quickscript manual looks like a goldmine of useful hints. I'm going to have to lay my hands on a copy. :)

Where did you find a font creation program to download. I've looked for one
for years and always come up empty, short of spending many hundreds of
dollars for a commercial one.
I would really, reeally, really like to know that URL. Pretty please with
sugar on top. :-)

Yes I think we should have a good links page there, at the very
least. Maybe make the site bi-alphabetic too. I'd like to see texts,
media, history, fonts and programs.
As you may have noticed I enjoy working with graphics and would
love to add to the number of the ones that are already in existance.
How much web space does the site have at present?
