Hey all. I've got the books back online. The retool took somewhat longer than I would have expected (I should have estimated 2 days, not 2 hours), but everything was put back online by 6:09pm today. I'm so happy with the end results that I've decided to discount BOTH versions of the book by 20% until the end of January (Pacific Time, aka. GMT-8). I know I said that I'd keep the Condensed version online while the other one was off, but I ended up needing to retool both to get a wider distribution and I also wanted to make sure that nobody felt shafted by paying full retail for the book while so many others got it for a discount. Unless something catastrophic happens, this will be the FINAL revision of the book and it won't be taken offline again.

I typed the prologue some years ago, but I couldn't be bothered to type any further. There's a PDF here: https://sites.google.com/site/wurdbendur/andro_one.pdf
This may be an old version, and it certainly contains some mistakes.

Unfortunately it's not in Shavian encoding. It's in an ASCII hack.

Fortunately I found a newer version that also includes Act I. Through simple search and replace, I've converted it to Unicode.
I've put the PDF up in the files here: http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/YEYIUeHPFjT_i1fEq41m6KE8xQXeeSEqKi9KaB_HvFRf0Gf1roXT0GLb3UUPgksoMKfiE9T-Ic19Cbu3D-XS0f1yuN9Kzi6gnoLkKg/Texts/andro1uni.pdf

The Moon alphabet is not an augmented alphabet. It is just a variant of
the 26 letters that are distinctive
enough to be read by the blind. People who became blind after learning
their ABC's prefer the embossed
Moon alphabet over Braille.

I am not a fan of this alphabet for two reasons. It is no better than
the traditional alphabet
for representing 40 English phonemes. The new shapes are rarely
historical or logical.
The following graphic compares Moon, QuickWrite, Braille, and PMF.
I think that PMF which is isomorphic with IPA is easier to read than
Moon.
It is also shorter taking 25 characters to represent spoken English
compared to 34 to represent TS.
[moon-braille-qr-pmf moon-braille.jpg]
Both PMF and Shavian had similar shapes for voice-unvoiced consonants.
Pitman did the same with his short-hand the voiced consonant was just
the unvoiced one in bold face.
Unlike the Shaw alpahbet, PMF tries to look like the Roman sound sign
where possible.

That's not a good comparison for Braille, though. That's Grade-1 Braille,
which writes out everything in full; “real” users would probably use at
least Grade-2 Braille, which has contractions for commonly-occurring letter
combinations such as “ing” and “and”. (Also, the spaces are missing in that
text.)

I’d be inclined to believe Snopes.

The Moon Alphabet isn't phonetic. I prefer phonetic alphabets such as Shavian and Pitman's Alphabet.
