The works of Heraclitus of Ephesus, c. 535-c.475BC, though in antiquity one of the more well-known Pre-Socratic philosophers, sometimes credited as the father of Stoicism, survive only in what has come to be called the Fragmentsโ€”the most famous of which is the one about not being able to step in the same river twice.

Here's another, quoted by Plutarch centuries later:

(or if you prefer, ๐‘ฏ๐‘ฒ๐‘ž๐‘ผ)

The oracle in question could have been the one at Delphi, but there was a nearer one down the coast at Didyma.

Daffodils now in bloom. Joy!

As many of you will know, there is a form of the Shavian alphabet that is used to write Esperanto. If you want more information on that adaptation, please contact me, Erik Felker, at ejfelker@dslextreme.com. I would like to find people with who to practice the Esperanto version of the Shavian alphabet.
