That's a very logical solution, paul. I believe I found this group from
Shavian.com, but I have been known to cruise through the groups site...

I know we have had a few arguments, but Here's voting for Paul and Hugh
as Moderators...

Good idea. I've already lived through such a move in another group,
<romanceconlang>, when the owner disappeared and the group was attacked by
spammers. It didn't hurt; I mean, to move :)))

Thanks Star

I wouldn't mind being the Backup Moderator for the New Yahoo Group,
if Hugh will be the Primary Moderator. But even though I am
incredibly worthy :) , we should consider a couple of other
candidates who have been busy creating, transplanting and sustaining
the Shaw Ikonboard. Which is the very best place to actually write
and chat in the Shavian Alphabet.
Behold, Philip Newton and Scott Harrison.
I think they are both off in Europe somewhere.
And then there is the problem of moderation. A Moderator should be
moderate in opinion and temperment and accept dissenting opinion,
where as I pursue and beleaguer dissidents until they cry out for
leniency. (Hold, enough)
So let us go ahead and prepare a new Yahoo group.
I don't have a problem with ShawAlphabet. That is what I use for my
own web-site.

Regards, Paul V.

Good one! Anyway, if we still need a back-up moderator, I'm
available :). I'm generally pretty active in here, so I'll at least
be around most of the time to keep an eye on things.

Just a thought.

Maybe we could change the focus of the group a little bit when
set up the new Yahoo group. I think we need to concentrate more on
attracting students, especially from the younger generation.
We could call the Yahoo group Learn_to_read_Shaw, for example.
A more trendy name could be Shaworld. Anybody else see the movie
Ghost World.
Maybe we can incorporate quizzes and prizes to get some interest
going?
I can make up some sample questions, if anyone wants to see what I
mean.
Regards, Paul V.
P.S. Anybody else have any luck attracting any students.
We can't let procrastination run unfettered in our group.

Good idea. It could be a place where those more experienced with
Shavian can teach the new people.

I haven't seen Ghost World. Maybe I'll just have to watch it to
understand the connection.

We need to come up with good quizes for beginning students. What
kind of prizes are you talking about, and who's paying for them?

I haven't been able to convey the utility of Shavian to but a couple
people, and it's their own procrastination that keeps them from
learning it. Or maybe other obligations . . . but who needs
homework? Jobs? Life? Nah.
