Dear Sir;
I can't help you buy a copy, but if you can't find one, I can xerox my
xerox of a copy for you for postage costs. Daniel Szczurek

I'd suggest a used book search at two locations I'm familiar with:
Advanced Book Exchange: http://www.abebooks.com/
Bibliofind: http://www.bibliofind.com
Both sites have pretty extensive networks and databases. It may take some persistence and repeated searches, as the listings change pretty frequently.
I was able to find a perfect copy of the "Trustees" edition a couple of years ago from a Canadian bookseller. I'm sure there have to be other copies out there.

I just did a quick test search on Advanced Book Exchange and the first item that came up was a Shaw's alphabet version (searching by "title").

I got hold of one thanks to ABE (from Millenium Books in Canada somewhere).

Hi all,
I have put The Gift of the Magi on my web site. Next comes A Christmas Carol (but not for at least a week).
I have also created a PostScript file for the Periodic Table of Elements but cannot seem to distill it into a PDF properly. Does anyone know where I can try another distiller?

Scott,
I've had problems distilling tables, too. I think the solution I found was to split my table up into two or three different bits, width-wise. Acrobat Distiller doesn't seem to like wide tables, but doesn't seem to mind tall ones. Don't know of any other distillers, though, sorry.

Mr. Gabhart,
Read seemed to have abandoned many of the analytical aspects of
Shawscript when creating Quickscript.
He says that he did this because some people had trouble forming some
of the Ss characters.
My guess is that the overlap is about 80% altho as you say it is a little
confusing when some of the grapheme-phoneme correspondences are changed.
Have you checked out the keyboard Shavian - This is what you have to type
in order to access the special characters on the Shavian fonts?
I am mostly concerned about ease of learning. Did you find Quickscript
any easier to acquire than Shawscript?
In what respects was it simplified for you.

Lionel,
I think the problem is because the distiller cannot handle the Ghoti font. I embedded it in the PostScript file to ensure it would print on any system. However, because the original I got from Ross DeMeyere was a TTF font I needed to convert it to a Type 42 PostScript font (embedded TTF). I think the distiller cannot handle a Type 42 font. I will send a note to Ross to see if I can get a non-TTF version of his font.
