Shavian eGroup Archive Browser

I guess that what I am stuck on is getting the font to work with my
browser. I have a Windows 98 system, and I installed the font. I
looked for a place to associate that particular font with UTF-8, but
was unable to find it.

In reply to your recent postings, here are my 'pronunciations' of the said words. My accent is a typical 'regionless' form of British English. [You might have to widen the message window if the Shavian words don't sit underneath the roman ones.]

With regard to stress, I would argue that a great deal of the stress can already be conveyed by using up, ado, err and array appropriately - even if ones pronunciation does not seem to differentiate between the two pairs.

childhood) is roughly "standard British" of some sort (non-rhotic).
This has been overlaid with an American accent through schooling, but I
write Shavian with the British influence (this shows, for example, in
the vowels which I distinguish).

I've only recently joined this club but as a habitual mis-speller I
am very interested in spelling reform. When learning foreign
languages I always use newspapers to practice. Is there a Shavian
pulication/ezine/newsletter? If not does someone want to set one up?

I don't know of any yet. Probably due to the small number of people who
know Shavian, which means (a) a small audience, and (b) not everyone
would be prepared to undertake such a thing :)

You volunteering? ;)

We did have a program whereby one person would post a text
transliterated into Shavian every Sunday. People would take turns, and
the idea was that public shame at not posting something would make
people keep their appointment. Unfortunately, that seems to have died.
