Hi Bob

I've been reading this talk of republishing Androcles - and I like the sound of it. If I can do anything to help I would be happy to. I haven't got much money but I'd offer what I could, if there were a real possibility of getting the book republished (with or without modern additions/alterations)

I'm very caught up in work at present too. Hopefully it will be finished very soon.

FYI: the web hosting package hosting old.shavian.org expires today (Friday
23 April). http://old.shavian.org/ will probably not work much longer.

I'll see what I can do to bring the forums up on http://shavian.org/ ,
though.

OK, I've managed to dump the databases on the old site and restore them on
the new site.

After doing so, Ikonboard complained about a wrong CHMOD value, which I
fixed by hand. Once I did that, it appeared to come up.

Please try using the new Ikonboard on
http://shavian.org/hugh/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi . If anything goes wrong, or
if you find missing data, or there are other problems let me know using the
email address "servermove" at "newton.digitalspace.net".

It appears to be working! I didn't try posting, but at least I can see

Ah, here we go:

"Ikonboard CGI Error - Ikonboard has exited with the following error: cannot
open stats file (Permission denied). This error was reported at:
Sources/Lib/FUNC.pm line 340"

Philip, at a guess, I think you need to change the CHMOD status of the stats
file.

Well I'm just checking them out now. About to post something.

It looks good so far - thanks Philip. I'll have to see about updating the
forum software (Ikonboard) as the version we're using now is at least 3
years old - it'd be good to have a nice modern look about the place.

One thing I would request, for www.shavian.org, is something next to the
link to the forums that links to some Shavian fonts and mentions that the
primary font used on them is Shaw Sans No.2 - how about my fonts page?
http://mixsynth.fearfulsilence.com/shavian/fonts.htm. It might clarify
things for visitors.

Did that now (and made all other files writable as well, for good measure).

I had patched the Stats file with data from the previous site, which made it
belong to me again, not to the Web user, and not writable by the Web user.
