That's a good idea. I'll get a zip file together with all my data (freq
analysis etc) and we can compare them. If it leads to a perfect Shaw layout,
who can complain!

I agree, this is a good idea. But we all know there's no such thing as
a perfect layout! Nevertheless, most anything is better than what we've
been using, and i'm sure a layout based on letter usage frequency will
be much better. I have been using the Dvorak layout for Roman text for
several months now, and I found that when I switch to a Shavian font,
it's actually easier to use than the qwerty-shavian layout, even though
Dvorak is not Shavian-specific.

Paul considers all of the so called anomalies to be voiced.
The h is often mute in tradspel but does not fit the pattern of the
other unvoiced-voiced consonants: pb fv td . . .
Read attempted to list h and ng together with the other pairs.
I think this was a mistake.

In fact, I am not certain whether or not all these "yew" variations
are voiced or un-voiced. I opened up the question because human,
huge, humor, humongus and cute, all sound un-voiced to me.
In any case, I don't see the necessity for another letter.
I would be happy to include all these variations under the Shaw
letter "Yew".
Does anyone wish to adress that question?

Usually Consonant Clusters are all voiced letters or all unvoiced
letters. m and y goes with un-voiced for some reason as in "Shmuck".
l and r go with both Voiced and unvoiced consonants when forming
consonant clusters.

consonant and vowel, and so the rules for these nasals, semivowels or
glides, and liquids are different from most consonants.
